Elizaveta Baranova-Parfenova holds a Master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Lomonosov Moscow State University and is currently a PhD candidate in cognitive neuroscience at the Graduate Institute of Mind, Brain and Consciousness in Taipei, Taiwan. She works in the field of time perception and her academic interest lies in temporal processing of several seconds events.
Apart from academia she is interested in intersectional environmentalism and human rights issues. Additionally, she is deeply concerned about the reproducibility issues in science and possible ways to make it more robust and transparent.

Lea studied medicine at the Ludwig Maximilian University Munich and is currently conducting her clinical part of medical school at the Technical University of Munich.
She is particularly interested in the human-machine interface. The limits and possibilities of machine intelligence and the question what distinguishes biological brains from artificial neural networks. One of her driving questions is: What makes us living and conscious beings? Besides she is also interested in clinical psychology and psychiatry, sociology and languages as well as arts and theatre.
